SiteGround’s cloud hosting is for medium to high traffic websites needing superior reliability, speed, security, and scalability. I’m hosted on their cloud hosting and my site loads in .5 seconds using GTmetrix.

Article version (I keep it updated):
WHAT IS CLOUD HOSTING
Shared hosting relies on one machine to host your site while cloud hosting uses unlimited machines to act as one system. This means uptimes and security are guaranteed by many servers because if one machine fails, others can compensate. There is a huge benefit of these isolated resources which shared hosting plans do not have.
ABOUT SITEGROUND CLOUD HOSTING
SiteGround’s cloud hosting is $80/month which is between their GoGeek plan ($14.95/month) and dedicated servers ($229/month). If your website suddenly gets tons of traffic you can add more resources to your plan (which you’re unable to do with their shared hosting plans). This is good for seasonal or sudden traffic spikes. You will also be avoiding CPU overages which are the biggest complaint with SiteGround’s shared hosting plans. If you go over SiteGround’s limit (CPUs or even disk space) they will send you warning emails but will shut down your website within days if it’s not fixed in time. Cloud customers are much less likely to experience CPU overages.
