  1. I want to move to hosts but I subscribed an email address as well as a domain. How do I transfer the email as well? I am confused about subscribing to the email and then transferring, as surely the email address will not be mine if I cut ties with the original host.

  2. We had a an ecommerce client a few years ago move hosting from us to another hosting company… the technician who managed the DNS migration failed so badly that they lost dozens of orders. Here is my complete writeup with a bit more detail into what can go wrong: https://userhat.com/how-to-migrate-an-e-commerce-website/

  3. interesting info but he didn't exactly tell how to move the website – he's just telling the concept, not the action points

  4. Subquestion … how about changing just the hosting provider, leaving the domain name the same … but also changing the CMS, which means different sub-url names, and differnet site structure and also altering the content of the site (still the same business, same items, …) … in short a new site for the same domain name, with different hosting provider that uses a different CMS. Will the ranking in any way stay with the new site? We were paying quite a lot to come high in our field and now we have a high "natural" position with our old site … what will happen when we launch the new site, will we have to do it all over again or is there a way to keep the rankings? Thx

  5. Hi. I did a website using Adobe Muse. I simply want type in www and the name of the website, and see it online. However, I can't. I have to go through Business Catalyst. I want to transfer my website to domain host. How do I do this?

  6. I would love to have example.com go to that IP address and the ip address goes to example.com, but that would be a loop because the domain is already requesting those files but it won't let you.

  7. Hello Niels. I've heard that the cheapest way to get webhosting is to use a coupon code from hostgator. they seem to do great work at a low price. I did some research and by using the coupon code 25LESSGATOR u can get 25% off!

  8. Hey guys a great vid this is! Anyone has some advise as to cheap webhosting? I've been looking to swap for a while now but dont really know who's the cheapest

  9. "Change IP to new host" ? Can you do that by yourself ?
doesn't that require some action (permission) from your old hosting ?

  10. I disagree… a better way is to wait until your TTL is set… e.g. the method should be:

    1) Assume your TTL was set to 86400 (24 hours)… set your TTL to 300 ( 5minutes)
    2) Wait 24 hours (the old TTL setting) after you changed the TTL
    3) Move the website/database/content to new host (don't make any changes to old host)
    4) Change IP to new host
    5) Bingo-bango

  11. You can see a related video, but with Matt with much less marathons and hair: youtube.com/watch?v=w41dsE87CfY&feature=related
Content is awesome anyway and Matt explanations and sound is better in my opinion in this newer one.
