After copying the html file from s3 to the EC2 instance I added HTTP to the security groups and then try to access the public DNS, but the connection keeps timing out before the page can be displayed. Any ideas?

Great info! I have access to my Remote Site Directory through Filezilla, but following the normal steps for setting up the instance left me without write access to create my html folder (there wasn't one there by default).

The console commands changed that. Thank you so much!
