  1. This is very misleading…
Sure the software is free (and quite impressive actually), but the hosting you have to provide for yourself. You don't get any free space here, you have to pay for it yourself.

  2. Well, for sure it's not "for free" 'cause if you want 2T of space, you have to buy one (or more if you want redundancy) 2T disk(s) part of which will be used for the linux distro and of course you got to have a server! At this point, it's better to buy a NAS with some goods, like qnap's ones: about the same cost but ready for the cloud.

  3. Please I don’t know how to secure my my account because I can access it on other system and OS, any Idea please

  4. To install it on a Virtual Privat Server and grand access from outsite my network, what exactly do I need to do to make this happen? Thanks in advance.

  5. it still expensive for home use, better stick google, microsoft etcor you can buy cheap NAS like wd my cloud, qnap

  6. Great video. Just finally setup a nextCloud server on an older machine I had lying around. I thought it was as simple as ticking the box during the ubuntu server installation. Didn't know it was more nuanced than that (not by a lot).

  7. Signup to the world's best secure & fastest cloud storage sync.com via: http://www.sync.com/get-started?_sync_refer=0c179c4f0
and get 50gb free cloud storage instantly for lifetime.

  8. if you setup duckdns you can enable lets encrypt. They have an image for the Pi just for this except its done with a docker container and not a snap the , the same image also runs on x86 though its 'docker pull ownyourbits/nextcloudpi-x86 '. The custom image makes it really easy to setup and add duckdns and your letsencrypt certificate. There is a guy on here the channel is called pcmac , he goes through the process the part about duckdns is what I am referencing though for people that want to go the route of a letsencrypt certificate… why does a snap install itself as a mounted partition, I still really dont understand whats going on under the hood and the method in which they install from 'channels' .. I'd watch a video just on that.

  9. I set the ip address to work with next cloud but cant connect to it through the browser(ip does look different, looks like: 10.X.X.XX). Any ideas as to why this is?

  10. Great video. Nothing is absolutely free but this video helps put the control back into your hands.
    Thanks for uploading.

  11. STOP SAYING BULLSHITS AND CLICKBAITING WITH UPPERCASE LETTERS
Nextcloud is great, i use it and my clients too.
BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY SOME THINGS :
    SERVER or SERVERS (for HA)
    STORAGE FOR YOUR SERVER
    INTERNET CONNECTION
    ELECTRICITY
    BACKUP

ISN'T TOO ANOYING WRITING ALL IN UPPERCASE EXCEPT nextcloud ?
The 204K Subscribers you're owning should be ashamed of you.
You should remove this video and recreate another like this with a good title

  12. Great video! If you want to run this on a VM instead to get even more control, check out https://www.hanssonit.se/nextcloud-vm

It's a one command install and very easy to setup!

You can find the source code here: https://www.github.com/nextcloud/vm

    Happy Nextclouding!

  13. Jack, the name of this video is leading people to think you have found a way to get a free unlimited cloud storage when in fact what is shown in the video is has nothing to to do with "cloud" its completely on-premise! and and it is not unlimited! it is very much limited that how much storage you own have on your server. so its not cloud and definitely not unlimited

  14. How is this free ? You either have to setup your own machine at home that can bring a load of problems regarding uptime (ISP instability , dynamic ip) , not to mention costs of a 24h /7 running machine, or pay for a vps which can be quite expensive specially with large amount of space

  15. Hey Jack, they say free/unlimited but for how long ? someday they will change free to paid. i seen this. google drive is best

  16. This is clickbait! Next cloud will NEVER be unlimited storage, it will only be as big as your server hard drive. Also, the uppercase title looks terrible…
